2017 begins the 2nd year in the Lord's work at Anchor of Grace. Whatever the church, Pastor Ron blesses Christ followers with special messages, entitled: "What Are You Expecting?"; "Unmerciful Bedside Manner At Best"; "The Power of Doubt"; "The Great Commission (Uganda)"; "What's Your Piece Of The Miracle?"; "Having A Generous Spirit"; and "The Cost Of Being A Christ Follower".
This message is about Jesus and we want to always honor Him! Sometimes we put God in a box and we say, “God has to show up this way in my life so I can recognize Him!” How many of you know that if you can define God, then your god is not big enough? He is an almighty God. He comes sometimes as a healer, sometimes as a deliverer, sometimes He walks through the valleys with us, and sometimes He helps us jump right over them. It depends on what Jesus feels is best for our life as we go through it! So we are going to talk about “What Are You Expecting?”
This message is about mercy. Learn how Jesus handled situations with great mercy. The word mercy, grace & love are all the same word in the Hebrew. Mercy is a powerful Hebrew word that is mis-understood and not talk about a lot. How does God pour out his mercy on us? "Lord, have mercy on me!" is one of the most common prayers among Christ-followers. We are God's saints on the earth today. Have you ever listened to the song, "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me? The idea of "mercy" is a deep spiritual truth. Listen as Pastor Ron walks through the Word about the mercy of our Lord Jesus!
Christ-followers are the church, and we meet in buildings that we call the church. Pastor Ron talks to us about the power of doubt. There is a lot of power in doubt. So often, many people walk in it and fall into the trap of doubt. Doubt is really the opposite of faith. It's one of the things that can literally stop the hand of God from working on your behalf. It doesn't stop the hand of God. However, doubt in our lives can sometimes keep us from experiencing God's hand of protection and touch on our lives. Doubt comes along pretty easy! Honestly, we're kind of prone to it. Because, fundamentally as humans we are kind of "negative." This applies to many, today!
The Great Commission (Matthew 28) tells us what to do and how to do it. God says it to you and to me! It doesn't just say that it's to pastors and preachers, but God calls on all of us to do what the verses say. But before we go into the world, we must know Jesus Christ as our own personal Savior. If there's anyone among you that doesn't know Jesus Christ as their Savior, then I want you to know that Jesus Christ died on a cross, was buried and rose from the dead for you and me. Jesus took all of your sins and nailed it to the cross at Calvary. Every sin that was ever committed, Jesus became that sin so that we could be free. He did it for you and for me!
How many would like to see a miracle in their life today? I believe that God can do a miracle in each of our lives. Whatever miracle you might need, God can do that! But we have a part to play in that miracle. It's important to recognize that God is still in the miracle working business. There are miracles that God wants to do in our lives. Until we let him do it, we're going to be in trouble. We need to let God give the miracles and always give him praise in faith for the miracle in advance. God wants to do a miracle in our lives, if we will allow him to do it. What's your piece of the miracle?
We live in a world today, where we really are not quite generous as a people. God didn't call us to be a part of his church so we could be entertained & "spoon fed" for the rest of our lifes. He called us to be part of the church, so that we're generous in Spirit. We're generous with what God has given us, whether it be finacial or giftings that God has placed in our lives. Everyone is Christ is gifted. We may not think we are, but we are. We have gifts, talents, and kinds of things. Sometimes we have free time or other giftings that we can give. In the church we have all kinds of things we can do for God. It should never be left to a few to do the work of God.
